INTERAKSI PEMBERIAN PUPUK KANDANG SAPI DAN MULSA ORGANIK TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN PRODUKSI TANAMAN LENGKUAS MERAH

Galangal (Alpinia purpurata K. Schum) is a plant that is often used as herbal medicine. Red galangal has the potential to be a natural medicine, many people are starting to cultivate red galangal. Success in cultivating red galangal is one of the challenges that must be faced by farmers in Indonesia. Giving mulch can support the success of red galangal cultivation, the presence of fertile soil also supports this success. Soil in Riau Province is generally dominated by red yellow podzolic soil (PMK), which is a marginal soil that has the potential to be developed by using the addition of ameliorant materials such as manure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and get the best interaction with the application of cow manure and organic mulch on the growth of red galangal (Alpinia purpurata K. Schum) production. The research was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial with 2 treatment factors, namely cow manure treatment (P), P0 without cow manure, P1 1 kg/plot, P2 2 kg/plot. Mulch (M), M0 without mulch, M1 with oil palm mulch, M2 with rice straw mulch. So that there were 9 combinations of treatments with 3 repetitions, each repetition there were 4 plants with 2 plants taken as samples. The observed data were analyzed statistically, if the calculated F is greater than the F table of 5% then the Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) is continued at the 5% level. It can be concluded that the application of cow manure and organic mulch both singly and in interaction had a significant effect on all observation parameters, the best combination that gave the best results was in the P2M2 treatment (applying 2 kg/plot of cow manure and rice straw mulch).
