PROMOSI JABATAN: PERAN KOMITMEN DAN KOMUNIKASI ORGANISASI DENGAN PRESTASI KERJA SEBAGAI INTERVENING

Organizational commitment is a psychological construct that is a characteristic of the relationship of members of the organization with its organization, so that it affects the individual's decision to continue his membership in the organization or the degree to which riches believe and are willing to accept the goals of the organization and will remain or not leave the organization (Mowday, 2000; Matis & Jacson, 2000; Meyer & Allen, 2007). While the promotion of position according to Ardana, et al (2012) is a process of change from one job to another job, in a hierarchy of authority and responsibility that is higher than the authority and responsibility that has been imposed on the employee at a previous time. This research is based on the importance of organizational commitment so that the promotion of the position carried out does not cause various questions from members of the organization. So that good communication is needed from the organization and consideration of work performance before promotion is done.
The type of research is explanatory research. The population in this study were all ASN in the Regional Secretariat of Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. Based on data analysis found organizational commitment and communication affect promotion. And this relationship will be strengthened by the work performance variable.
The limitations of the research include not being able to fully describe whether organizational commitment and communication are strengthened by work performance in influencing job promotions. The recommendation for the next researcher is to expand the object of research throughout the local government.
